Junior Mechanical Engineer

We can offer our clients specialized services in architecture and engineering, project/construction management and commissioning & qualification.
Currently we are looking for a Junior Mechanical Engineer to join and support our team. You will be a key member in the definition of mechanical systems (piping and HVAC) that fulfill the needs and requirements of the client and the project
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Support the engineering tasks from Initiation to Handover (depending on the project scope)
- Participate in the requirements evaluation, product concept and sizing of systems
- Size systems that meet the targets for performance, timeline, costs effectiveness, quality, safety and legislation
- Creation of engineering documents (specifications/drawings) for building services
- Ability to perform accurate heating/cooling load calculations, select equipment and provide suggestions/solutions
- Ability to perform accurate pipe sizing calculations for liquids and gases, select equipment and provide suggestions/solutions
- Develop and contribute to the development of internal standards
- Collaborate with the partners of Rocens in the delivery of national and international projects
Qualifications, Education and Experience requirements
- Bachelor/Master in Mechanical Engineering
- Good knowledge of heat transfer and fluid dynamics fundamentals
- Experience (+2years) in the design of HVAC systems and knowledge of codes and standards related to it
- Experience (+2years) in the design of piping systems and knowledge of codes and standards related to it
- Experience in the creation and presentation of engineering documents (P&ID’s, specifications, drawings, etc)
- Good knowledge of BIM and the application of this technology in system design (proficiency in REVIT is highly preferred)
- Good knowledge of AutoCAD and the application of this technology in system design
- Experience with MEP design and coordination between disciplines
- Basic knowledge of CFD tools and their application to ventilation design
- Ability to meet fast paced deadlines without compromising the quality of the work
- Chartered engineer (Ordem dos Engenheiros ou Ordem dos Engenheiros Técnicos)
- Maintain positive client relationships
- Excellent communication skills towards management, partners and clients
- Excellent English language skills (written and spoken)
